K&N Engineering

K&N was founded in the 1960s by Norm McDonald and Ken Johnson in Riverside, California. 

Ken and Norm were sellers of motorcycle and motorcycle parts, and they were supporting a K&N race team. With the enhanced need for better performance, K&N came up with the reusable high-flow cotton air filter in 1969. Manufacturing the cotton air filters became the primary focus of the company as they enhanced performance and durability. In the 1980s, the company invented the bolt-on performance air intake kit to replace the factory air filter. 

Today, the company has continued to invent and improve air filters for cars, UTVs, ATVs, watercraft, earth-moving equipment, outdoor power equipment, etc. It continues to participate in motorsports and racing and has offered winning teams in various championships.
