Due to all the improvements and additions, it was expected that the base price of the 2018 Mustang EcoBoost would be up. And it was. The base 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder coupe with a 6-speed manual was now just under $50,000 ($49,990 precisely), which was a significant price increase. However, the 2018 Mustang EcoBoost was still an extraordinary value for money. This model year was better looking and better equipped and slightly more powerful, and (when equipped with a 10-speed automatic) a bit faster.
The 2.3-liter was again rated at 310 hp (233 kW), but it gained more torque, and now it delivered, pretty substantial, 475 Nm. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint took 5.4 seconds with manual and 5.3 with 10-speed automatic, but the top speed remained the same. Interestingly, the EcoBoost Mustangs gained an active exhaust system with four settings – quiet/normal/sport/track. As expected, EcoBoost was offered as a coupe or convertible, with convertible models being sold only as automatics.
