The base 2018 Mustang GT was some $5,500 more expensive than 2017, but it was worth it since a brand new, third-gen 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine was under the hood. This unit was carefully improved and now delivered massive 460 hp (310 kW) and 530 Nm of torque. Paired with a new 10-speed automatic, GT could jump to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds and top 250 km/h (limited) with ease. The new Magnaride adaptive suspension kept things in check and offered drivers new levels of driving dynamics and handling feel.
The 2018 Mustang still didn't get strut bar as US-spec models and still had few irrelevant visual differences. As expected, Ford offered coupe and convertible in GT trim, but convertible could only be had with 10-speed automatic.
